I aim to start a short-term (maybe 6-8 sessions) Dogs in the Vineyard game at my house in downtown Oakland on Thursday evenings (700p-1030p). Y'all are invited to play, but I have only four slots total. I have a minimum need of two players to make it a go, and four players (plus the one I have in reserve) is the absolute top end for this particular project.

If'n you're not clear on the concept of Dogs, feel free to make your way on over to the Lumpley Games site for a gander.

Thursday nights currently meet my preference, but if a significant number of players would prefer Wednesday nights, well that's ok, too.

So. Please comment to let me know if you're available and interested. I'll take players first come, first served. If somehow there is a larger number of interested players than slots available, I'll work out something as a consolation.

Should we begin play, first session would be 13 July 2006.

Any takers?

oh, *man*. That's the one Thursday I definitely can't make, and I'd love to play.

Perhaps with the assent of the other players, we might start instead on the day before. Most everything is negotiable. :-)

Then I'd definitely be in, Brother Brick. ;)

Is this your way of getting your Dogs fix, so that you can yield the 23rd and 30th to me? ;-)

Not specifically, no. :D This is me, trying to get my Vandal on.

L*** might be interested, though I think Wed might work better for him than Thurs, at least for now. (He's talking about leaving his old aikido dojo and coming to mine, which would probably include changing classes from Thurs to Wed). Might want to talk to him directly, since he refuses to read blogs.

Meanwhile, how are we going to resolve who's running on the 23rd & 30th?

Well, I defer to you, and you seem to want to defer to me, so we have an impasse. I surely do not wish to duel you for it. ;-)

* A coin flip?
* Twist J's arm until he voices a preference?
* Something else equally arbitrary?

Do you have a preference as to how it goes?

Well, if you want to run for the group, I don't want to discourage you. I have no better claim to those dates than you do. The fact that it's a two-week stint, or that we'll be running more ED for a month afterward, or that I'm running PD after that, don't really enter into it.

I mentioned L*** because he expressed a hankerin' to play some more Dogs, but typically said he'd play either Dogs or PD, so I thought your proposed game would satisfy his Dogs desire.

I doubt we're going to get J*** to express a preference (and I'm going to be pissed if he begs off from playing on the 23rd and 30th because we're not playing ED, but I'll burn that bridge as exigencies require).

That leaves us either to out-polite each other, or roshambo for it...

Well, I could never outpolite you, sir.

I would love to play if you'll have me, as I have become a fan of weeknight gaming. I'l talkt o T and see if he is interested as well.

I had been thinking of trying to alternate games once the Space 1889 module is done on tuesdays (someone else runs for a bit, then we come back to 1889) But I suppose the 5 players plus your rserve would be a bit much for you?

If not, or if one of the players wants to take a break, that could be a possibility. . .

Five plus reserve is alas, too many for this game. I think five players total is my limit for the time being. Once I have more experience running Dogs, I'll understand the rhythms of the game to consider more, but at this time, I don't think I can ensure good flow for more than five, and five is pushing it, just a little (just little enough that I think I can tame the horse before anyone gets thrown off).

Some other Tuesday alternate is definitely worth pursuing, though, and I might have a couple of games on tap that I could enjoy running, but I'd definitely have to stop the running of two games concurrently before the Fall semester begins. :-D

Oh, and I'd love to have you play, whether T is available and interested, or no.
