Which reminded me of David Brin's essay in Salon about Lucas as monarchist-elitist, versus Roddenberry as populist.

I read Scendan's essay yesterday and loved it. Just read the Brin article and loved it too. It makes me want to jump up and down with my Spock ears on and scream out, "I told you so!"

True enough. however debating the merits of the prequels is futile - there are none. None.

I just prefer to ignore them.

Great link. Maybe this will inspire me to finally put up the Han Solo rant, another glaring point of idiotic brilliance in the trilogy.
